CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
Note: This policy is currently under review and subject to change. Please contact us if you have specific questions about cancellations or refunds.
SUMMER CAMP & CLASSES
- 14+ days before start date: Full refund minus a $25 administrative fee.
- 7–13 days before start date: 50% refund.
- Less than 7 days before start date: No refund. Credit toward a future session may be offered at the discretion of Sewing Arts Lab.
- No-shows: No refund or credit.
- Transfers: You may transfer your registration to a different week or session (subject to availability) with at least 7 days' notice at no additional charge.
PRIVATE SESSIONS
- 48+ hours before appointment: Full refund or reschedule at no charge.
- Less than 48 hours: No refund. Session may be rescheduled once at the discretion of Sewing Arts Lab.
GIFT CARDS
- Gift cards are non-refundable.
- Gift cards do not expire.
- Gift cards may be used toward any class, workshop, summer camp, or private session.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
- Hand Sewing: Ages 6–10
- Afterschool Program & Summer Camp: Ages 10–18
- Beginning Machine Sewing: Ages 13+
- Basic Alterations: Ages 13+
- Textile Collage & Mixed Media: Ages 13+
- Private Sessions: All ages (minors must have parent/guardian consent)
Age requirements are based on safety considerations for equipment use and program design. If you have questions about whether a program is appropriate for your child, please contact us.
LIABILITY RELEASE
All students (or their parent/guardian for minors under 18) must complete and sign a liability release form before participating in any Sewing Arts Lab program. This includes classes, workshops, summer camp, and private sessions.
The release form covers the use of sewing machines, cutting tools, irons, dyes, and other standard equipment in a working sewing studio. The form will be provided during the registration process.
STUDIO RULES
- Closed-toe shoes are required at all times in the studio.
- Long hair must be tied back when operating sewing machines.
- Students are expected to treat equipment, materials, and fellow students with respect.
- Sewing Arts Lab provides all materials and equipment unless otherwise noted. Students may bring their own sewing machine if they prefer.
- Sewing Arts Lab is not responsible for personal items left at the studio.
PAYMENT TERMS
- Payment is due at the time of registration.
- We accept Zelle (no fee), Venmo (processing fee applies), and credit card via Square (processing fee applies).
- For Zelle and Venmo payments, a reference code is provided at registration. Payment must include this reference code and be received within 48 hours to confirm your spot.
- Spots are not guaranteed until payment is confirmed.
OPEN STUDIO (COMING SOON)
We are planning to offer open studio hours as a subscription model for experienced sewers who want regular access to our machines, equipment, and workspace. Details and pricing will be announced when available.
